We work with a variety of Indian and International NGO’s to help spinal cord patients from the area around Visakhapatnam and other parts of southern India to find cutting-edge physical therapy, and educational and vocational rehabilitation. We have already sponsored some patients to travel to ISIC in Delhi for therapy, and we are providing active rehabilitation training at the new outpatient therapy centre in Visakhapatnam. We are also actively supporting the development of quadriplegic rugby throughout India and surrounding nations, in conjunction with the spinal cord network, ESCIP(www.escip.org) and the American NGO, International Humanitarian Foundation(www.internationalhf.org) My organization desires to develop post -hospital rehabilitation centers, including sports, educational and vocational rehabilitation, for spinal cord patients throughout India, beginning in Visakapatnam. To do this well, we need to be connected with other people throughout Asia with expertise and experience in this area. We are also working with corporates & individuals for funding & voluntering to develop a spinal cord rehab center in Visakapatnam in the next 6 months. www.theabilitypeople.org
